A Love Letter From Jesus To You

For I, the Lord your God, am holding you by the right hand. (Isaiah 41:13).

I Know Who Holds 2012

We have crossed the threshhold of a new year -- a new beginning. As I look back over 2011, it was a different year, and at times, a difficult year...BUT MY GOD was with me every step of the way! 2012 is now here. I love a new year for it represents a fresh start, a brand new set of days overflowing with new dreams and unmarked possibilities, yet I also know that this year is full of unknowns. BUT, the good news is that what lies ahead is no surprise to God! I recently read in a devotional..."He has already been where we are going! That reason alone empowers us to face every tomorrow with hope, knowing whatever touches us passes through His hands, with His permission. It is not God's plan for us to dwell in fear or for fear to rule our lives. He has already set in motion the defeat and fall of every giant we will ever face. Our responsibility is to step through our fear, facing every giant in God's power and with His promises. The Holy Spirit will guide the path of His truth in its destined mark, taking down the giants lurking in each tomorrow!" I think that is something to post on your refrigerator as a reminder for 2012!!!

In Kids Klub, we have been 'driving home the truth' that we can trust God no matter what! I don't know what my year will hold, but I know WHO holds tomorrow. My God is the same yesterday, today and forever..so what is there to fear about the unknown of 2012?

In Psalm 147:4 we read that "He [God] counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name." How well I remember laying down on the lawn as a child and staring at the stars in the evening sky...trying so desperately to count them...and then just giving up because it was an impossible task! Not only does our God count them, He names them! But while God knows and numbers the stars, YET, He is concerned about you and me... Verse 3 of Psalm 147 says, "He [God] heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." He binds our shattered hearts with sensitivity and kindness He brings healing to the depths of our souls...He cares even when we're broken by sin!

The greatness of our God is the greatness of His heart...His strength is the measure of His love...He is a tender and mighty God. I still like to look at the stars...these celestial bodies are but mere matter, yet He knows their name...so how much more must He care for us who bear His image. Because of His care for us...we can leave our cares with Him!

How we have claimed His promises time and time again...and He has been faithful! His love (and His hand) have been so evident.

One Solitary Life

He was born in an obscure village, the son of a peasant woman.

He grew up in another village, where he worked in a carpenter's shop until he was thirty. Then for three years he became a wandering preacher.

He never wrote a book. He never held an office. He never had a family or owned a house. He didn't go to college. He never visited a big city. He never travelled two hundred miles from the place where he was born. He did none of those things one usually associates with greatness. He had no credentials but himself.

He was only thirty-three when the tide of public opinion turned against him. His friends ran away. He was turned over to his enemies and went through a mockery of a trial. He was executed by the state. While he was dying, his executioners gambled for his clothing, the only property he had on earth. When he was dead he was laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend.

Twenty centuries have come and gone, and today he is the central figure of the human race and the leader of mankind's progress. All the armies that ever marched, all the navies that ever sailed, all the parliaments that ever sat, all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have not affected the life of man on this earth as much as that One Solitary Life. Stewardship

Pastor Doug has been speaking on "Stewardship" these last couple weeks! Psalm 24:1 tells us that "The earth is the Lord's and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to Him." An article I read today touch on this! It said, "If a friend loaned you her new car, you'd make every effort to care for it and use it well. Everything you have is on loan to you from God; He owns it all and He is letting you use it!" Make sure you are a good steward of all He has entrusted in your care because someday you will have to give it back to Him and account for what you did with what He gave you! Romans 14:12 says, "Each of us will give a personal account to God." What is your attitude toward the things God has trusted you to care for???

LISTS!

It is that time of the year..no, not resolutions, but LISTS! As I have watched TV this last week, I have been bombarded by “lists” from the past year. They consist of best football teams, best sports plays, best news stories, and even best bloopers.
As you reflect back on 2010, I think it would be good to think of the areas in our lives that stood out as excellent and those that were not so excellent. Socrates said, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” I would challenge you to look at a couple areas of your life:
1) Obedience – As you look back, is that on the “best” list or the “bloopers”? Am I listening for His instruction, either in the Word or by His Holy Spirit? Have I done as He asks? Elizabeth Elliot said, “He is Master…it is simply up to me to obey orders as given.”
2) Unity – God has been burdening my heart to pray for unity among us all at Anoka Wesleyan Church. When it is my will and not God’s will that I am seeking, conflict will arise and god’s purpose is hindered. Jesus prayed, “May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know You sent Me.” “Best” or “blooper” list? I think the reasons are two-fold. First, we want our own way. That’s not Christ-like. He said “Not my will, but Thine be done.” Secondly, we are focused on the church and not on the lost. Nothing but love for the lost will unite the divided forces of Christ and organize us into a mighty soul-winning army!

Jesus Is The Gift

Join us for Christmas caroling on December 5th! Our Sunday School Christmas Program is always a special time. See you there on December 12th at 6 pm. You will be blessed by the choir's musical "O Holy Night" on Sunday morning, December 19th, at 10:45 am. And most special of all will be our time of worship on Christmas Eve at 6 pm. Invite someone to come with you!

Oh, what a miracle Christmas is! God came to us so we could come to Him! Have a most blessed Christmas.

Jesus is the Gift

Jesus is the gift that perfectly fits every heart and it is with His love that all celebration starts. We rejoice in Him as we remember His birth and thank God for sending His only Son to earth.

His life led from a manger to a cross on a hill where He faithfully followed His Father's perfect will. He freely laid down everything so that we could live and there is no greater treasure anyone could give.

Like a scarlet ribbon His love wrapped around the cross and He offered it to us all at the greatest cost. So each time that we give we remember what He's done and honor the perfect Gift - God's one and only Son.

My Tribute of Thanks

"By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually,that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name." Hebrews 13:15

I sometimes cannot believe we are already in November of 2010! The new year will be just around the corner before we know it! When we come to the month of November, I immediately think of Thanksgiving…a time of giving thanks!

Giving praise to the Lord is one of the best ways to express our thanks to God for His many blessings and yet, I wonder how many of us do it on a regular basis? I’m not just talking about “saying grace” before we eat…or the list of blessings you may write down during this month. I’m talking about Hebrews 13:15…continually offering praise!

Continual doesn't just mean once a year or even once a day for that matter. It implies that it is repeated without interruption. David said in Psalm 34:1, "...His praise shall continually be in my mouth." He also said, "At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments." (Psalm 119:62) When's the last time we found ourselves up at midnight thanking the Lord? Later on in that same psalm David says, "Seven times a day do I praise thee because of thy righteous judgments." Do we stop seven times a day to praise God? Do we even stop once or twice to praise Him?

My desire for you this month is that you develop a lifestyle of praise to our Lord…realizing WHO God is and who we are not! Oh, may it be an amazing time of giving thanks to our Lord…not only in November but throughout the entire year!

How can I say thanks for the things You have done for me? Things so undeserved yet you gave to prove your love for me. The voices of a million angels could not express my gratitude. We Had An Awesome August - Let's Have a Super September!

August was awesome at Anoka Wesleyan! It started off with a block party on “Minnesota Unite Nite”! We were able to meet many of our neighbors and the jumping castle/slide was a HUGE success with the kids!

The next week we had a rockin’ time at our “Crocodile Dock” Vacation Bible School!! It was so much fun to hear of the “God sightings” that took place…it was a VBS where fearless kids shined God’s light!

We collected school supplies, zippers, Advil, and several personal items which will be going to Honduras this month to help in the ministry of Pastors Oscar and Maria. They will be deeply touched with your kindness! I hope you had a chance on Sunday to see the reversible sun dresses that one lady has been making! Pray for her as she delivers them to Honduras.

And to close the month out, we had an awesome afternoon for our Sunday School picnic at Orono Park in Elk River! Wasn’t the baptism service special!

And now it is time for Super September! It is back to school for our church kids! Thanks so much for praying for them as they return...in fact, why not ask our church kids from time to time how you can specifically pray for them! And let them know you love them too! Our Kids' Klub has kicked off its "Big God" series with lots of new faces this fall! Our Youth Group is growing...and the Young Adults are having an awesome time! Don't have a church home? It's Time For Vacation Bible School!

August is a busy month at Anoka Wesleyan! We had our Block Party this evening and had a wonderful turnout! We had a blowup jumping toy which was a wonderful attraction for kids! And the big and little kids all enjoyed when the Anoka Police stopped by to thank us for being part of "Minnesota's Nite to Unite!"

Now we are set for Bible School starting on Sunday, August 12th. Our theme will be "Crocodile Dock" -- encouraging kids to be on the lookout for God sightings! It's for all kids from ages 3 through 99! It will be August 8th through August 12th and will be a fun week of seeing God in action! Cost is $3.00 per person. Guest Speaker on Human Trafficking - Sunday Morning, July 18th - 10:45 am

Sandie Morgan will be our guest speaker Sunday morning, July 18th, at 10:45 at Anoka Wesleyan. Her topic will be the local church's response to Human Trafficking. We invite to you attend.

Sandie is a Registered Nurse and has served on the board of the International Nurses Association in Athens, Greece where she lived for ten years. It was there that she discovered human trafficking while doing a story for Lydia Living magazine. She also serves as Director of Vanguard University’s Global Center for Women and Justice and is adjunct professor of Family Violence and Human Trafficking. www.vanguard.edu/gcwj. Sandie served as a Human Trafficking Dialogue Facilitator at the National Association of Evangelicals Global Leaders Forum in Washington D.C. and was invited to the first Whitehouse Roundtable on Human Trafficking. She has hosted the Senior Director for Global Projects from the US State Department for the first Economic Roundtable on Human Trafficking in Southern California as well as in Athens, Greece at the Athens Bar Association, as well as current Human Trafficking Ambassador Luis CdeBaca. Sandie Morgan is Administrator of the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force enlisting the local community in partnership with law enforcement against the modern slave trade. As an advocate for victims of human trafficking, Sandie guest lectures in universities, community groups, and churches. Sandie has been interviewed by the LA Times http://articles.latimes.com/2008/01/10/metro/me-parsons10, the OC METRO Business Magazine http://www.ocmetro.com/NEW_SITE/metro031308/women.php. the OC Register, http://www.ocregister.com/articles/trafficking-229036-morgan-human.html KOCE – Real Orange, and other media. Developing community grassroots awareness is critical to ending slavery. She partnered with other members of the OC Community on an awareness video, The Cost of Demand which can be viewed at www.live2free.org. Changing the way we think about the forces that drive demand for human trafficking is her goal. She says, “The modern salve trade is a business fueled by demand. Consequently, to some degree we are all part of the problem or part of the solution. We contribute to demand by turning a blind eye to pornography and sex tourism or by making choices that reward companies that keep their bottom line under the rest of the market by the use of slave labor.”

Block Party and VBS in August

Mark your calendars now to attend two special events in August! We will be having a neighborhood Block Party as part of National Night Out on August 3rd from 6-8 pm! There will be food, games, music and fun! Come join us at 1930 Branch Avenue in Anoka!!

Vacation Bible School will be August 8-12th at Anoka Wesleyan from 6-8:30 pm for ages 3-99! VBS is always such an awesome time...plan on coming and inviting a friend! Cost is $3.00 for five days of a great time at "Crocodile Dock"!!!!

Remodeling Updates

The elevator lift is now complete and will take individuals to the sanctuary, the entryway, and the fellowship hall! It is regularly used each week! Ken has also completed the ramp for the front entrance, so no more step! The church is now handicap accessible! The next projects will be to replace the front entry doors, create a handicap restroom, put stairtreads on the concrete stairs, and replace the sound system! It's exciting, isn't it! Thank you for your faithful support in these projects! May the Lord receive all the honor and glory! I'll post some pictures soon!

On Monday afternoon, Jeff and Becky Poe moved to Anoka! They will be ministering to the young adults and the youth of Anoka Wesleyan! We're so excited to have them here! Jeff and Becky are recent graduates of Bethany Bible College in Sussex, Canada.

Did you know that there are 48 million young adults in the United States? We, as the church of Jesus Christ, want to empower this generation to use their gifts for the benefit of people and the purposes of God...to help them unlock their potential!

Be praying for Jeff and Becky as they start their new ministry!!!

Memorial Day

We were able to attend the community service this morning which was very touching and respectful. How grateful I am for the men and women who have served our country...and how humbled I am by those who have given their lives for our freedom. As the Gold Star parents laid the wreath for their child at the base of the memorial, I must admit my heart ached for them for they know the true price of freedom. The speaker for the program shared that our solders are ordinary men on an extraordinary mission to make a difference in our world because of freedom. During one part of the program, those from a particular area of the armed services were to stand..the Army, the Navy, the Marines, the Air Force, the Coast Guard, etc... I watched as young and old proudly stood to their feet...men and women who have been willing to be used. It was a sobering time.

I often wonder about those men who signed the United States Declaration of Independence..under the words "We hold these truths to be self-evident."...the list of names of men who were willing to stake their fortunres, their honor, and their lives on a few convictions that changed the world.

Jesus changed the world with a few who were willing to die for what they believed. He began with only twelve men...men that He chose to be with Him. These twelve were indeed special for they walked and talked with Jesus for those three years of His ministry...they learned from Him in person! And at the end of Christ's earthly mission...He sent these apostles out with the good news of the Gospel. We recently studied the first part of the book of Acts...the beginning of the Church after the visitation of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. I had goose bumps as Doug shared from that portion of Scripture. But don't stop with Acts! Continue on in the Word, and you will see as multitudes heard of Jesus and followed Him, some went on to change the world!
And the neat part is that this is still what God is doing today -- He still uses people -- people who are willing to be His instruments for change in the world...ordinary people on an extrodinary mission...willing to make a difference in their world because of the freedom from sin offered through Jesus Christ! He uses us when we are willing! It doesn't take great people to do great things...just ordinary people on an extraordinary mission in service to an Omnipotent God! Are you one of them???

Pledge of Allegiance

In 1892, Francis Bellamy, a minister from Boston, first published the Pledge of Allegiance. Originally the word "God" was not in the pledge. But on June 14, 1954, President Eisenhower signed into law a provision that added the words "under God" to the pledge. Later President Eisenhower commented, 'In this way we are reaffiarming the transcendence of religious faith in America's heritage and future; in this way we shall constantly strengthen those spiritual weapons which forever will be our country's most powerful resource in peace and war.'

SpringLife Is At Anoka Wesleyan

SpringLife began February 28th at Anoka Wesleyan and goes through May 2nd! It will be an exciting two month adventure where we focus on personal evangelism and spiritual formation. Our focus is on "Ready 4 More?" Who do you know that needs to hear the Good News? Add them to your ultimate "to do" list this spring! Our Post-It prayer wall is in the front of the church...be sure to add the names of those you are praying for to come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. May we learn to intentionally share our personal faith stories in Jesus with someone and may we commit to becoming a better follower of Jesus in the year ahead!

We're excited about our elevator lift project at the church! It indeed is a step of faith! The project will cost approximately $50,000 and will provide access to the sanctuary and the fellowship hall plus, it will have a ramp at the front entrance! Advent started on Sunday, November 29th! Join us for a special advent journey of sharing discovering the Child called Jesus! What a special month we are going to have at Anoka Wesleyan!

Christmas Caroling is a highlight of every December! Bundle up and join us at 5 pm on Sunday evening, December 6th, as we go caroling around the Anoka community!

The ladies of the church will be having their annual Christmas party on Thursday evening, December 10th...join us for "Holly and Ivy" at 7 pm at the church. It will be a very special night of fellowship!

Our Sunday School Christmas program will be Sunday evening, December 13th, at 6 pm. Our theme for this year is "Jesus, God's Gift To The World"! Each class is preparing their own presentation plus there will be music, skits, and other surprises! Afterwards, join us in the fellowship hall for a piece of Jesus' birthday cake!

Start the Christmas season right by attending the candlelight service on Christmas Eve at 6 pm. Come and rejoice in the birth of our Savior...come and worship Him!

What's happening in November...

Choir practice starts Sunday evening, November 1st! Come and sing a joyful "noise" unto the Lord! We meet at 5 pm each Sunday evening and will be performing on November 22nd and

then a couple different times in December!

It has been awesome to see the number of Gift Paks already brought to church for World Hope! We need them all turned in by Sunday, November 8th, so that we can get them mailed before Thanksgiving! We will be having our annual harvest supper on Sunday evening, November 15th at 6:00 pm. Turkey with potatoes and gravy will be provided. Sign up for the trimmings you would like to bring! Come for a special evening of sharing together in food, fellowship, and fun!

Our special Thanksgiving Eve service will be Wednesday night at 7:00 pm! Come join us for a special evening of giving praise and thanksgiving to our Savior and God!

Special Homecoming Weekend

We want to celebrate "family" on June 27th and 28th! Join us for our special homecoming weekend as we rejoice in 46 years of ministry to the Anoka Community! It will start with a picnic at the church on Saturday afternoon starting at 4 pm. ne Sunday morning, we will have our Sunday School hour start with opening exercises at 9:15 am followed by a celebration Worship Serivce at 10:45 am. After our time of worship, we will have a catered dinner at the church. The cost will be $10.00 per person. We'd love to hve you join us for that weekend! If you have any pictures from your time at Anoka Wesleyan or any special memorabiliat to share, please bring it.

Good Friday the church will be open from 1-5 pm for you to come and go as you wish. Why not stop in and spend a few moments with the Lord in prayer, thanking Him for His willingness to die on the cross of Calvary for your sins.

Our Sympathy

Our sympathy is extended to George and Sharon Austin. George's mother, Frieda M. Austin, 92, died Monday, February 9, 2009 at the Ebenezer Care Center, in Minneapolis, MN.
Services were held on Friday, February 13, 2009, at 11 AM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Knott officiating. Burial was in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com.
Frieda was born June 13, 1916 to Jacob and Marie Leonhardt in Grand Island, NE. She married Harold Austin, November 18, 1945; in Hastings, NE, he passed away October 21, 1998. She was employed at the Navel Ammunition Depot during her early years and taught Sunday school and Bible School.
She is survived by 2 sons, George and wife Sharon of Brooklyn Park, MN and David of Meadow Vista, California. 4 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. 1 brother, Bill Leonhardt of Waverly, NE and 3 sisters Helen Dake of Lincoln, NE, Edna Smith and Ruth Barfknecht both of Hastings, NE.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her parents, and 3 brothers, Jake, Henry and John.
Memorials may be given to World Hope International.

Valentine's Day With Jesus

Wise Men Still Seek Him

Happy New Year, my dear friends! 2009...oh, my! The beginning of a new year...and with that, I've started my list of "expectations" for this next year. My list has several things I'd like to accomplish this new year...things that are most attainable and most will help me focus more on my Savior. Let me share just a couple of them with you...
Yesterday my favorite pastor shared a message on the wise men and the good examples they are for us in 2009! As a child, the lengthy journey of the wise men was a very special part of the Christmas story. (Does anyone remember the musical "Amal and the Night Visitors" that was an annual special on television? It was a favorite of mine!) They indeed were diligent in their travels...they came seeking the Child...they were seeking the Truth. They had traveled for thousands of miles to find "this one who has been born King of the Jews". They didn't expect God to come looking for them...to prove who He was...they were indeed "wise" as they were seeking Jesus. The chief priests and teachers of the law in that day were well aware of prophecies of ruler to be born in Bethlehem..they were well aware of the promised Messiah (Micah 5:2), but were not searching for the Truth.
These wise men also showed us worship. The Magi came with their expensive gifts - gifts which would be worthy of a King - and they were overjoyed when they say the child (oh, I can almost see them dancing around!) BUT then they bowed down and WORSHIPED! They were willing to give him what was valuable to them...gifts of gold, of frankincense and myrrh. Oh, my friends, Jesus is worthy of the best we have to give when we come to worship! I want to worship Him with my very best...
But as I studied that passage of Scripture, there was one last thought which I wanted to share with you. I determined that I want to be as responsive to God's leading as the wise men where...they were warned in a dream not to go back to Herod and returned home another route. They recognized the Lord's leading and they obeyed without any questioning. This next year, I want to walk in such close communion with Him - not only in the major decisions of life but in the day to day choices that I find myself making - that when decisions or choices come, there is no hesitation but a certainty of knowing what the heart of God is in the matter and to know His peace....
A new year is here and I'm excited. What are your expectations for 2009?

In the quietness of the early morning hours, I have been having a time of praise and worship with my Father, giving thanks to Him for all He has done...and thanking Him for your friendship. May you have a most blessed Thanksgiving! How I would love to write each of you a personal note, but there are just not enough hours in the day...

I am one who likes to have a "bit" of decoration around my house for the season we are in; thus, on one of my coffee tables are two pilgrim figurines. We have learned of the pilgrims since our early school days. How well I remember making the pilgrim hat and collar in elementary school!
The pilgrims came from England to find a new home in America because they did not want someone (namely the King of England) telling them how they should worship God and they didn't agree with some of the things the church was teaching. They had heard of America - a place where they could be free to live the way they wanted to live and believe what they wanted to believe without being punished for it. As I've pondered this thought over the years, I must admit I cannot imagine the cost of that decision...leaving behind their home, the majority of their belongings, their friends, their security....getting on a small ship to travel to place they had only heard about...a land where they would be strangers...but GOD was with them and helped them to live in this land and survive.

At our special Thanksgiving service last evening, Pastor Doug shared a video which opened with the word "pilgrim" and its definition - a traveler - one who journeys in a foreign land. I have been blessed by the Word this week as I've looked at different Scripture verses. You know what? I am a "pilgrim"... I am on a journey in this life. When I accepted Jesus as my Savior and He forgave me of my sins...I was made free. This world was no longer my home....and I am a stranger here. The Word says in Ephesians 3:20 "that our citizenship is in heaven and we eagerly await a Savior from there." Hebrews 13:14 tells us "For this world is not our home; we are looking forward to our city in heaven, which is yet to come."

Yes, I am a "pilgrim" on a pilgrimage (a journey to a holy place!) ...are you too? Have a most blessed Thanksgiving....give Him thanks! In His Love, Suzi

It's Vacation Bible School Time!

Calling all kids from ages 4 to 99! Come to "God's Big Backyard" at Anoka Wesleyan starting Sunday, August 3rd through Thursday, August 7th from 6 to 8:30 pm.

Come learn the joy of showing God’s love through service to your family, friends, neighbors, community and Jesus!

It all starts on Sunday evening, August 3rd at 6 pm. On Thursday night, we will have a special block party for the ENTIRE FAMILY AND OUR NEIGHBORHOOD! There will be games, food, music, and much more! Come explore stories of Bible servants and be challenged to serve each day!

Cost is $3.00 per person. Adults, there will be a class for you each day as well! You can register one of three ways:

Church Annual Meeting

Spring Leadership Clinic

Easter Is Coming!

Tomorrow is Palm Sunday - the beginning of Holy Week! We invite you to join our church family for the special events we will be remembering and celebrating!

Talent Show

What talent we have at Anoka Wesleyan! I'll try to post some pictures soon, but just wanted you to know what an amazing time we had last Sunday evening at our Annual Talent Show! The theme for the evening was "I Will Make You Fishers of Men". If you weren't there, here are some things you missed! The Ballard Sisters....Ode to the Potato...Fairy Wishes...singing....crazy skits....The Suburban Housewives...The Sunbeams...the human spider...and much more! During our time of Fellowship, tables were displaying the hobbies and handicrafts of our members! What a gifted bunch!!!

Romans 12:6 says "We have different gifts, according to the grace given us..." Thanks so much for sharing your gifts with the family!!!

Special Events on February 17th

This coming Sunday will be very special. Rev. Andrea Swarthout, missionary with Global Partners, will be speaking during our morning worship service at 10:45 am. She will be sharon on her ministry in Japan these last two years and what her future ministry will be when she returns to Kyoto, Japan!

That evening, plan on join us at 6 pm for our "I Love Jesus" banquet. Wesleyan Women will be sponsoring the meal this year. Cost for a ticket is $10.00. Sign up today...it will be a fun-filled evening as we celebrate the love of Christ. Rev. Jim Thomaeson will be our speaker. Why not invite a friend!

Sanctity of Life Sunday

On Sunday, January 27th, we will be celebrating Sanctity of Life Sunday. We are blessed this year to have Barbara Rode (Branch Director of New Life Family Services in Anoka) speaking at our morning worship service at 10:45 am. We hope you can join us. While most often we think of babies when we think of sanctity of life, ALL of life is to be cherished...the unborn, little ones, those who are physically challenged, the elderly...to think that we were made in the very image of God! I don't know about you, but I am in awe of our Creator! Come celebrate LIFE with us!

PS...we are going to surprise Barb with a "mini-baby shower" for New Life that morning! Remember to bring diapers (all sizes), Enfamil or Similac formula, baby items, gift cards, or even postage stamps for use at the center!

Live Nativity and Candlelight Service

The teens and young adults of the church will be having a live nativity scene on Friday and Saturday evenings (December 14-15 and December 21-22) from 6 pm to 8 pm. Why not take a drive and come see us. This is such a busy time of year...it is good to "stop" for a few moments to reflect upon the LOVE that was shown to mankind over 2000 years ago, 'for God soloved the world that He gave...Jesus"! Christmas is the beginning of the story of redemption. He came to save us from our sins by dying on the cross of Calvary! JESUS is the reason for the season.

We will also be having a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 6 pm on December 24th...what better way to start Christmas than to come and rejoice in the birth of our Savior!

Special Christmas Program on December 9th

Jack will be presenting "The Christmas Hope Chest" It is a program of songs, stories, and narrative that draws from the breadth of our western Christmas traditions. Jack brings new life to familiar carols as well as original songs with his guitar, fiddle and banjo and some unusual instruments like the jawharp, spoons, and his amazing amplified toy box lid! Thanksgiving Eve

Our Thanksgiving Service on Wednesday evening was a great time it was as we gathered together to share, sing, reminisce and give thanks. Everyone that took part in the service did such an amazing job, whether it was reading a verse or sharing from the heart. Thank you for making that a part of your Thanksgiving tradition. God is so good. It was also a blessing to have our son and his family with us for this time. It's a long trek from South Dakota.

Pastor's recovery is going well. Each day we are seeing progress! Thanks for your prayers and support during his recovery.

Doing Well

Thanks for your prayers for Pastor Doug. He is doing well and had his first physical therapy this morning on his knee. Please continue to pray for his recovery. We are so grateful that this surgery went so much better than his last experience. The whole procedure is so amazing. After two years, they have made several changes to the procedure! Thanks for your prayers, visits and calls. They are appreciated.
